Description

The collaboration between Spain, as the hosts and operators of several telescopes, and the large body of institutions that are direct participants in the Observatorios de Canarias, as well as among them, are epitomised by the excellent spirit within the CCI. The success of the Canary Islands as a major world location for front-rank science facilities has been demonstrated again this year by the good number of new developments proposed by the partners. These have covered many wavelengths and areas of astronomy and solar physics research and include new collaborations, not necessarily from within the current formal partnerships. There has also been very strong demand for time and access to the existing facilities – testimony to their excellence. The Canary Island telescopes continue to be amongst the most productive and versatile globally and this is set to grow in the coming years. This report reflects the very strong and collaborative environment within the CCI and amongst the partners and illustrates the bright and exciting future for all those concerned. I am sure the CCI will continue to play a vital role in ensuring our joint success. Dr Colin
