  • Search for standard model production of four top quarks in proton-proton collisions at √{ s} = 13 TeV
A search for events containing four top quarks (t t bar t t bar) is reported from proton-proton collisions recorded by the CMS experiment at √{ s} = 13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.6 fb-1. The analysis considers the single-lepton (e or μ)+jets and the opposite-sign dilepton (μ+μ-, μ±e∓, or e+e-)+jets channels. It uses

  • Search for two Higgs bosons in final states containing two photons and two bottom quarks in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV
A search is presented for the production of two Higgs bosons in final states containing two photons and two bottom quarks. Both resonant and nonresonant hypotheses are investigated. The analyzed data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at √{s }=8 TeV collected with the CMS detector. Good agreement is

  • Search for VHE γ-ray Emission from the Globular Cluster M13 with the Magic Telescope
Based on MAGIC observations from 2007 June to July, we have obtained an integral upper limit to the VHE energy emission of the globular cluster M13 of F(E>200 GeV) < 5.1 × 10-12 cm-2 s-1, and differential upper limits for E > 140 GeV. Those limits allow us to constrain the population of millisecond pulsars within M13 and to test models for

  • Search for young low-mass stars in a ROSAT selected sample south of the Taurus-Auriga molecular clouds
We present results of intermediate resolution spectroscopy of 131 optical counterparts to 115 ROSAT All-Sky Survey X-ray sources south of the Taurus-Auriga dark cloud complex. These objects have been selected as candidate young stars from a total of 1084 ROSAT sources in a ~300 square degree area. We identify 30 objects as low-mass PMS stars on the

  • Searching for star-forming galaxies in the Fornax and Hydra clusters
Context. The formation and evolution of dwarf galaxies is relatively difficult to understand because of their faint emission in all regimes that require large aperture telescopes. Aims: We intend to study the evolution of star-forming dwarf galaxies in clusters. We selected Fornax and Hydra clusters to complement our previous study of Virgo. On the
