The writer, scriptwriter and journalist ended his visit yesterday, to the IAC, to the Canary Island Observatories, and to the Museum of Science and the Cosmos within the multidisciplinary project “En un lugar del Universo…”, describing his stay as “enriching from every point of view.

The writer, scriptwriter and journalist, one of the best known authors of crime novels both in Spain and internationally, is the fifth author to participate in the multicultural project “En un lugar del Universo…” which blends literature and astronomy, to celebrate the IV centenary of the death of Cervantes

With her visit to the Teide e Observatory, the writer from La Palma, Gold Medallist in 2016, ends her visit to the IAC and to the Canary Island Observatories in the Framework of the project “In a certain place in the Universe….” amazed at the frontier science being carried out in the astrophysics institute.

This astrophysicist from the Institute of Astronomy of the National Autonomous University of México (IA-UNAM) is here within the Severo Ochoa Visitors Programme, in which the IAC is aiming at increasing collaboration between IAC personnel and prestigious researchers from other leading scientific institutions

The agreement between the two institutions aims at strengthening scientific and technological collaboration between the two countries, and to guarantee access for the astronomical community of the NAOC to observing time on the Gran Telescopio CANARIAS.

The launch of the OSIRIS-REx probe, planned for 8th September, will study Bennu, one of the oldest asteroids in the Solar System. It could yield clues to its origin and to life on Earth. Researchers from the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC), Javier Licandro and Julia de León are members of the group of scientists who will study this asteroid.
