The Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) announces the availability in 2016 of 14 fellowships as part of its PostDoctoral Research Program, most of them within the Severo Ochoa Excellence Program

4,500 drawings were received from Spanish children and 297 have been selected. About 3,000 works by European children will be engraved on a plaque that will be attached to the 'CHEOPS' Space Telescope of the European Space Agency

The ceremony took place this morning at the IAC Headquarters in La laguna

This is the third audiovisual production by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias with funding from the Severo Ochoa programme

Astrophysicists at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) show for the first time that galaxies which rotate more rapidly or have higher mass also show stronger large-scale and uniform magnetic fields. Their observations question the linear dynamo effect because at the current epoch the magnetic fields have stopped growing.
