  • Search for top quark partners with charge 5/3 in proton-proton collisions at √{s}=13 TeV
A search for the production of heavy partners of the top quark with charge 5/3 (X5/3) decaying into a top quark and a W boson is performed with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.3 fb-1, collected in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. Final states with

  • Searches for W' bosons decaying to a top quark and a bottom quark in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV
Searches are presented for heavy gauge bosons decaying into a top and a bottom quark in data collected by the CMS experiment at √{s}=13 TeV that correspond to an integrated luminosity of 2.2 and 2.6 fb-1 in the leptonic and hadronic analyses, respectively. Two final states are analyzed, one containing a single electron, or muon, and missing

  • Searching for Very Low-Mass Stars and Brown Dwarfs with the Spanish Virtual Observatory
A search for very low-mass and brown dwarfs using Virtual Observatory Tools for cross-correlation of large area catalogs and databases (DENIS, IPHAS, SDSS, 2MASS) is presented. We have obtained follow-up imaging and spectroscopy for some of the candidates. First results from spectroscopic follow-up of candidates will be reported.

  • Secular and Dynamical Evolution of Galactic Bars
We study long-term evolution of stellar bars in disk galaxies embedded in live dark matter halos. Using numerical modeling with N = 1.2 × 106 particles, we find that this evolution proceeds through recurrent dynamical instabilities and associated secular changes. We have studied the vertical buckling instability in the bar and find that it shortens

  • Seeing and ground meteorology forecast for site quality and observatory operations
The quality of astronomical observations is strongly related to the quality properties of the atmosphere. This parameter is important for the determination of the observation modes, and for observation program, the socalled flexible scheduling. We propose to present the implementation of the WRF model in order to routinely and automatically

  • Seeing Measurements from Mt. Holomon
We present seeing measurements from Mt. Holomon (Chalkidiki, Greece), a possible site for the establishment of a new University of Thessaloniki Observatory, using the Hartman - DIMM method. After two years of systematic observations we present the first robust results and give a first evaluation of the astronomical seeing characteristics, which are
