  • Near-infrared Spectra of Two Asteroids with Low Tisserand Invariant
We present near-infrared reflectance spectra of two asteroids with low Tisserand invariant, 2906 Caltech and 1373 Cincinnati. The Tisserand invariant is a commonly used dynamical discriminator, with values less than 3 considered suggestive of cometary origin. Asteroids Caltech and Cincinnati have Tisserand invariant values of 2.97 and 2.72

  • NEFER: a high resolution scanning Fabry-Perot spectrograph
The scanning Fabry-Perot spectrograph could give highly accurate, kinematical information of star forming regions (HH objects, protoplanetary disks and large scale flows) and the dynamics of isolated and interacting galaxies (resonances, galaxy pairs, compact groups). In this project we are developing a high spectral resolution scanning Fabry-Perot

  • New BeppoSAX Wide Field Camera results on superbursts
Analysis of archival data from the BeppoSAX Wide Field Cameras has yielded further detections of superbursts. Remarkably, several are from a persistent low-mass X-ray binary (LMXB) that radiates within a few tens of percent of the Eddington limit, in contrast to all other superbursts detected with BeppoSAX and RXTE which are from LMXBs radiating

  • New constraints on neutron star models of gamma ray bursts. I - EXOSAT observations of two gamma ray burst error boxes
Two EXOSAT observations of gamma-ray burst error boxes and their possibly associated optical transients are discussed. No point source was detected in either box. A comparison with Einstein data (Pizzichini et al., 1986) is made for one of them (November 19, 1978). The data are interpreted in the framework of neutron star models for gamma-ray

  • New generation of long linear-butted HgCdTe arrays for high-resolution infrared imaging
This paper presents a new generation of long linear butted arrays developed at LETI / LIR and dedicated to high resolution IR imaging for space and airborne applications. These IR focal plane arrays are based on modular architecture composed of butted CdHgTe photovoltaic detection circuits and Si CMOS multiplexers. CdHgTe detectors are made with
