  • Warps of galaxies (Castro-Rodriguez+, 2002)
From a comparison of the different parameters of warped galaxies in the radio, and especially in the visible, we find that: a) No large galaxy (large mass or radius) has been found to have high amplitude in the warp, and there is no correlation of size/mass with the degree of asymmetry of the warp. b) The disc density and the ratio of dark to

  • Variation of the low-degree solar acoustic mode parameters over the solar cycle
VIRGO/SPM is a helioseismic sunphotometer on board SOHO that observes the disk-integrated sunlight irradiance at three different colors (red, green, and blue). The data obtained for SPM since the beginning of the SOHO mission, April 1996, to March 2001 have been used to study the differences of the p-mode parameters during the solar activity cycle

  • V light curve of V567 Oph (Kiss+, 2002)
We present differential CCD photometry for the high-amplitude delta Scuti star V567 Ophiuchi obtained in the Johnson V-band. It was observed on 15 nights in two consecutive years in order to resolve the long-standing ambiguity related to its secondary period. A frequency analysis of almost 5000 individual single-filtered measurements resulted in

  • Thermal-magnetic relation of a sunspot as inferred from the inversion of 1.5 μm spectral data
We present the thermal-magnetic relation in a simple, isolated sunspot deduced from the inversion of 1.56 μm spectropolarimetric data. Due to the high Zeeman sensitivity of the g = 3, Fe I 1.5648 μm line, we can study this relationship in the entire sunspot. An inversion technique based on response functions is used to derive various parameters

  • Thermal Dust Imaging of Massive Star-Forming Regions: W3 Main and W3 (OH)
We present the preliminary results of mid-infrared images at 8.7, 9.7 and 12.5 micron of the complex massive star formation regions W3 Main and W 3(OH).

  • THEMIS and DOT joint observations on NOAA 9716
Ephemeral magnetic emergence has been detected in a decaying β region observed in December 2001 simultaneously with the DOT and THEMIS. We present here the main characteristics of this phenomenon. Also the time evolution of a small group of pores is shown together with the time evolution of an horizontal magnetic field overlying them.
