  • An atlas of images of Planetary Nebulae
A catalogue of narrowband CCD images of 100 southern and 1 northern Planetary Nebulae is presented. The data are images taken in the light of the Hα , Hβ , [OIII]500.7 nm, and [NII]658.4 nm lines. For each image we give the exposure time, the maximum extent of the nebula, and the seeing measured from the frames themselves. For ease of reference, we

  • A survey of the ISM in early-type galaxies. II. The dust
We present results of a CCD optical imaging survey of the dust content in 22 early-type luminous galaxies, selected from the RC3 Catalog. A large fraction (75%) of the observed galaxies show significant amounts of dust. The morphology and size of the dust distribution of the observed galaxies follows very closely that of the ionized gas. For each

  • A 33-GHz interferometer for cosmic microwave background observations on Tenerife
We describe a new high-sensitivity experiment for observing cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies. The instrument is a two-element interferometer operating at 33 GHz with a ~3 GHz bandwidth. It is installed on the high and dry Teide Observatory site on Tenerife where successful beam-switching observations have been made at this frequency

  • ZW 0855+06: A Wolf-Rayet Dwarf Galaxy Triggered by a Dwarf-Dwarf Interaction
We present narrowband (Hα and adjacent continuum) and broadband (B and V) optical images of the dwarf Wolf-Rayet galaxy Zw 0855+06 and its companion, together with high-resolution Hα spectroscopy of the main galaxy. We find a bridge of ~14.7 kpc (~65") in length and stellar nature connecting both galaxies, a feature that undoubtedly indicates their

  • Zodiacal light observations with ISOPHOT
We performed an extensive observing programme on the zodiacal light with ISOPHOT. The mapping of several ~0.5degx0.5deg fields demonstrates the sub-percentage smoothness of the zodiacal light brightness on arcminute scale. The analysis of 27 ISOPHOT-S spectra in the 5-12μm range revealed blackbody-like spectral shapes with no obvious spectral

  • Transport Effects in the Evolution of the Global Solar Magnetic Field
The axisymmetric component of the large-scale solar magnetic fields has a pronounced poleward branch at higher latitudes. In order to clarify the origin of this branch we construct an axisymmetric model of the passive transport of the mean poloidal magnetic field in the convective zone, including meridional circulation, anisotropic diffusivity
