The IAC is organised into areas, deparments and units under the responsability of the director. Senior management staff consists of a director (Senior Official) and an administrator of General Services (Executive).  Employees are civil servants or labor personnel.

To fulfill its mission and objectives, the IAC develops multi-year strategic plans, annual action plans, gender equality plans, etc.

Annual Reports

The IAC has published an annual report (memoria) since 1986. The report summarizes the yearly activities of each IAC division and department: Direction, Research, Postgraduate Training, Instrumentation, General Services Administration, Observatories and Outreach. Electronic version  is available since 1999.
