  • TOI-836: A super-Earth and mini-Neptune transiting a nearby K-dwarf
    We present the discovery of two exoplanets transiting TOI-836 (TIC 440887364) using data from TESS Sector 11 and Sector 38. TOI-836 is a bright (T = 8.5 mag), high proper motion (~200 mas yr -1), low metallicity ([Fe/H]≈-0.28) K-dwarf with a mass of 0.68 ± 0.05 M ⊙ and a radius of 0.67 ± 0.01 R ⊙. We obtain photometric follow-up observations with a

  • A possible signature of the influence of tidal perturbations in dwarf galaxy scaling relations
Dwarf galaxies are excellent cosmological probes, because their shallow potential wells make them very sensitive to the key processes that drive galaxy evolution, including baryonic feedback, tidal interactions, and ram pressure stripping. However, some of the key parameters of dwarf galaxies, which help trace the effects of these processes, are

  • A rich molecular chemistry in the gas of the IC 348 star cluster of the Perseus Molecular Cloud
We present Spitzer 10-34 $\mu{\rm m}$ spectroscopic observations of the diffuse gas in the inner region of the star-forming region IC 348 of the Perseus Molecular Cloud. We find evidence for the strongest mid-IR bands of common molecules as H 2, OH, H 2O, CO 2, and NH 3 and of several carbonaceous molecules which may play an important role in the

  • A spectral classification system for hydrogen-deficient carbon stars
Stellar spectral classification has been highly useful in the study of stars. While there is a currently accepted spectral classification system for carbon stars, the subset of hydrogen-deficient carbon (HdC) stars has not been well described by such a system, due predominantly to their rarity and their variability. Here we present the first system

  • INSPIRE: INvestigating Stellar Population In RElics - IV. The initial mass function slope in relics
In the last decade, growing evidence has emerged supporting a non-universal stellar initial mass function (IMF) in massive galaxies, with a larger number of dwarf stars with respect to the Milky Way (bottom-heavy IMF). However, a consensus about the mechanisms that cause IMF variations is yet to be reached. Recently, it has been suggested that

  • Photometric follow-up of 43 new eclipsing white dwarf plus main-sequence binaries from the ZTF survey
Wide-field time-domain photometric sky surveys are now finding hundreds of eclipsing white dwarf plus M dwarf binaries, a population encompassing a wealth of information and potential insight into white dwarf and close binary astrophysics. Precise follow-up observations are essential in order to fully constrain these systems and capitalize on the
