  • Simulations of Thermal Non-Equilibrium Caused by Nanoflares
We present the results of models of nanoflare heated coronal loops using the 1-D hydrodynamic ARGOS code. The nanoflares are modeled by discrete pulses of energy along the loop. We explore the occurrence of cold condensations due to the effective equivalent of thermal non-equilibrium (TNE) in loops with steady heating. We examine the dependence on

  • The polarization signals of the solar K I D lines and their magnetic sensitivity
Aims: This work aims to identify the relevant physical processes in shaping the intensity and polarization patterns of the solar K I D lines through spectral syntheses, placing particular emphasis on the D 2 line. Methods: The theoretical Stokes profiles were obtained by numerically solving the radiative transfer problem for polarized radiation

  • TOI-1468: A system of two transiting planets, a super-Earth and a mini-Neptune, on opposite sides of the radius valley
We report the discovery and characterization of two small transiting planets orbiting the bright M3.0V star TOI-1468 (LSPM J0106+1913), whose transit signals were detected in the photometric time series in three sectors of the TESS mission. We confirm the planetary nature of both of them using precise radial velocity measurements from the CARMENES

  • TOI-2196 b: Rare planet in the hot Neptune desert transiting a G-type star
The hot Neptune desert is a region hosting a small number of short-period Neptunes in the radius-instellation diagram. Highly irradiated planets are usually either small (R ≲ 2 R ⊕) and rocky or they are gas giants with radii of ≳1 R J. Here, we report on the intermediate-sized planet TOI-2196 b (TIC 372172128.01) on a 1.2 day orbit around a G-type

  • Ultraviolet Mapping of Polarization Profiles in Chromospheric Plage with CLASP2.1
Measurement of the magnetic field throughout the solar atmosphere is crucial to a quantitative understanding of energy transfer from the photosphere to the corona, as well as for the dissipation of magnetic energy. However, there remains an overwhelming insufficiency of magnetic measurements in the upper chromosphere and above, where the magnetic

  • 99 oscillating red-giant stars in binary systems with NASA TESS and NASA Kepler identified from the SB9-Catalogue
Oscillating red-giant stars in binary systems are an ideal testbed for investigating the structure and evolution of stars in the advanced phases of evolution. With 83 known red giants in binary systems, of which only ∼40 have determined global seismic parameters and orbital parameters, the sample is small compared to the numerous known oscillating
