  • Study of star-forming galaxies in SDSS up to redshift 0.4. II. Evolution from the fundamental parameters: mass, metallicity and star formation rate
Context. To understand the formation and evolution of galaxies, it is important to have a full comprehension of the role played by metallicity, star formation rate (SFR), morphology, and color. The interplay of these parameters at different redshifts will substantially affect the evolution of galaxies and, as a consequence, their evolution provides

  • Study of the Extended Narrow-Line Region in the Host Galaxy of the Lensed QSO 2237+0305 (z = 1.69)
The detection of spatially extended line emission in multiply imaged QSOs offers a new possibility to study the properties (kinematics and structure) of the ionized gas in the host galaxies of high-redshift QSOs. We have studied the arc of extended emission detected in Q2237+0305, finding that it arises from the core of the C III] λ1909 emission

  • Studying star forming dwarf galaxies in Abell 779, Abell 1367, Coma, and Hercules clusters
Context. We continue to study star formation in dwarf galaxies located in nearby clusters. Aims: Known physical and chemical relations outlining the formation and evolution of dwarfs is compared in different environments, including the Local Volume (LV) and some nearby clusters studied previously. Methods: We used the TNG telescope for four nights

  • Studying the Relationship Between the Average Velocity of the Turbulence and High Altitude Winds at the Teide Observatory
The requirements for excellent image quality of current large and future very large telescopes demand a proper knowledge of atmospheric turbulence. Thus several projects are already pursuing this aim. The precise characterization of the turbulence above a particular site requires long-term monitoring. In this sense, due to the lack of long-term

  • Sublimating components in the coma of comet C/2000 WM1 (LINEAR)
Comet C/2000 WM1 (LINEAR) was observed at ESO at the time of its closest approach to the Earth at the beginning of December 2001 (geocentric distance: 0.32 AU). The aim of the observations was characterization of the solid component of the coma. Observations have been acquired over a wide spectral range, from the visible to the thermal infrared
