New results of a program to study BAL + IR + FeII QSOs, using
Gemini/GMOS-IFU spectroscopy and HST data, are presented for IRAS
17002+5153 and IRAS 07598+6508. In particular, the Gemini GMOS-IFU data
show that: (i) IRAS 17002+5153: the 3D spectra in the region of the
shells (at radius of 1.3") show multiple emission line components (with
Δ V~280--500 km/s), with typical properties of Liners associated
with low velocity shocks. (ii) IRAS 07598+6508: the 3D spectra in the
circumnuclear area where a possible shell (at r of 2.3") show multiple
emission line components also with typical properties of Liners
associated with shocks. These results confirm our previous suggestion
that: these two similar BAL QSOs could be considered as exploding BAL +
IR + FeII QSOs (which are also very similar to the exploding QSOs Mrk
231 and IRAS 04505-2958). Thus, these new Gemini GMOS data are in good
agreement with our extreme outflow + explosive + evolutionary model for
QSOs and galaxy formation and evolution.
